Uniswap v3: Trading Usage, Growth, and Competitive Analysis

Uniswap v3: Trading Usage, Growth, and Competitive Analysis

This Dashboard was a finalist winner in a Uniswap Grants dashboard competition. I took my experience in customer research and competitive analysis in the ecommerce space, and applied it to the decentralized crypto exchange market. This dashboard explores overall market share, share by pair, and it was my first attempt at aggregating pairs into trader use cases (i.e. bundling ETH/USDC, ETH/USDT, ETH/DAI into a ETH/USD grouping).

Gamma Strategies: Uniswap v3 Volume and Fees Collected Dashboard

Gamma Strategies: Uniswap v3 Volume and Fees Collected Dashboard

This was the first analysis I created for Gamma Strategies, an organization researching active liquidity management. This dashboard helped monitor Uniswap v3 activity and discover trading pairs that might be worth investing in. This dashboard quickly became the the most "favorited" Uniswap v3 dashboard on Dune Analytics, and within a few weeks became the top Uniswap dashboard overall.

Uniswap v3 - Usage Comparison on Ethereum vs Optimism

Uniswap v3 - Usage Comparison on Ethereum vs Optimism

On July 13, Uniswap announced an "Alpha Launch" of their v3 exchange on Optimism's Layer 2 roll-up. Optimism was one of the most highly anticipated Ethereum scaling solutions, promising lower fees and faster speeds while connecting back to Ethereum's security layer. With my history of making dashboard for Uniswap v3, I had to be the first to get an analysis out. How many people are using the Optimism version? How much cheaper is it actually? Does it appear to be growing?

Yearn Finance: Who is Participating? Vault Data and User Size Distribution

Yearn Finance: Who is Participating? Vault Data and User Size Distribution

There was a Twitter debate between protocols about how aggregator vaults like Yearn compete versus users for yield. Discussion turned to a question about if these aggregator vaults should be seen as "whales" or as collections of smaller users? I was curious as well, and built this dashboard to try to gain insight into how many users are actually participating in Yearn vaults and how large their holdings are. Another semi-viral Twitter thread followed (see above).

Gamma Strategies: Uniswap v3 - Last 2 Days Trading Pair and LP Position Discovery

Gamma Strategies: Uniswap v3 - Last 2 Days Trading Pair and LP Position Discovery

Also built on Flipside Crypto here.

This was the second dashboard I created for Gamma Strategies. This aimed to 1) Speed up time to reaction by shortening the analysis window from trailing 7 days to trailing 2 days, and 2) Discover the most profitable distinct liquidity positions by pair, fee tier, tick range, time active, etc. Note that these distinct position fees are approximated, since we're using historical data versus in the moment activity, and transactions had to be aggregated in time blocks for query performance.

Yearn Finance: WOOFY Token Dashboard

Yearn Finance: WOOFY Token Dashboard

The one where I took a dog token too seriously. I quote tweeted a Yearn team member's WOOFY launch announcement saying "Actually maybe this is my next dashboard to make. I’m curious how many $WOOFY holders are/were $YFI holders, and how many are in it for the memes." A few likes and follows later, I decided to build this out.

Uniswap v3: v2 to v3 Ramp-Up

Uniswap v3: v2 to v3 Ramp-Up

This is where it all started. Read my blog post for context on how I learned crypto data, Uniswap data, and Dune Analytics by building this dashboard, and how it was my first signal of traction in this field.
