EIP1559 - ETH Burn and Emissions Metrics
August 5, 2021
On August 5th, the highly-anticipated EIP1559 update went live on Ethereum. This update introduced a "base fee burn," where a portion of transaction fees would be burned, rather than 100% of transaction fees going to the miners. There was a lot of conversation and predictions surrounding what the impact of burning ETH would have on the network and asset price, as well as if enough would be burned to make ETH a deflationary asset. This dashboard dives into the main metrics surrounding EIP1559, including burn/emission rate, share of transactions using the new EIP1559 model, and how often the network is deflationary for ETH.
This became the most starred EIP1559 Dashboard on Dune Analytics.
